Manually editing the sm.dat file can corrupt it and you will lose your site information. IMPORTANT: sm.dat is not a "human-readable" file you can't just type your site information into a text file. The location in which sm.dat is stored depends on your version of Windows. The sites in the Site Manager are stored in a file called sm.dat. Note: On some older versions of CuteFTP, all you need to do is open the Site Manager and then click Import. On the Tools menu, click Site Manager then click Import FTP Sites and follow the prompts in the wizard.
